Categories A1, A2 and A: motorcycles
Training for obtaining the A1, A2 and A category driving test is provided at the AMZS Driving School at two locations:
- Ljubljana (Dunajska cesta 128)
- Trebnje (Trubarjeva ulica 2)
A1
Category A1 includes motorcycles on two wheels with or without a sidecar, of which:
- engine capacity does not exceed 125 ccm,
- motor power does not exceed 11 kW,
- the engine power/vehicle weight ratio does not exceed 0.1 kW/kg,
and tricycles whose engine power does not exceed 15 kW. The license to drive vehicles of this category also includes the license to drive vehicles of categories AM and G.
Age limit:
- 15.5 years to start training
- to take the exam 16 years
A2
Category A2 includes motorcycles whose engine power does not exceed 35 kW and where the ratio between engine power and vehicle weight does not exceed 0.2 kW/kg, and the motorcycle does not originate from a more powerful vehicle. The license to drive vehicles of this category also includes the license to drive vehicles of categories AM, A1 and G.
Age limit:
- 17.5 years to start training
- to take the exam 18 years
A
Category A includes all other two-wheeled motorcycles with or without a sidecar and tricycles. The license to drive vehicles of this category also includes the license to drive vehicles of categories AM, A1, A2 and G.
Age limit:
- to start training 23.5 years (or 20 years if the person has had a category A2 driver's license for more than two years)
- to take the test 24 years (or 20 years if the person has had a category A2 driver's license for more than two years)
